Chris Harris Recognized in NBWA National Spotlight Program
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
September 9, 2020
O’Connor Distributing Employee Recognized in National Spotlight Program
Christopher Harris Highlighted by National Beer Wholesalers Association
PINE BLUFF, Ark. – O’Connor Distributing, a Pine Bluff-based beer distributor, is pleased to announce that Christopher Harris has been recognized in the National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) Employee Spotlight Program. A category manager, Harris started with the company 16 years ago.
America’s 3,000 independent beer distribution facilities employ more than 142,000 men and women in communities across the country. Beer distributors are key to building beer brands – large and small, domestic and imports – and helping to provide choice and value for consumers to enjoy. They are also stewards in their communities and work hard every day to strengthen state and local economies. The NBWA Employee Spotlight Program highlights standout beer distribution employees and showcases their achievements.
“Chris’s tenacity, performance and category knowledge led to many promotions before landing his current position of Category Manager,” said Ryan O’Connor, president of O’Connor Distributing. “Chris has been a mentor to our drivers, driver helpers and sales representatives. He leads by example; and when he leads, you follow. Chris has been a central part of our achievements, and we are thankful for his commitment and devotion to move our customers’ businesses forward.”
NBWA President & CEO Craig Purser said, “Beer distribution employees go above and beyond every day to make America’s beer distribution business the best in the world. They’re often helping their colleagues, working hard to keep shelves, bars and restaurants stocked and building stronger communities where they live and work. NBWA is proud to recognize the many contributions of beer distribution employees in its employee spotlight program.”
O’Connor Distributing is a family-owned, third generation organization committed to long-term success. Our company operates three divisions-Three Rivers, Three Lakes, and White River Beverage-with annual case sales of over 2 million. We distribute to over 1,100 retailers in over 25 counties across the state of Arkansas.
Our business strategy is simple: hire, train, and retain a growing team of hardworking Arkansans in communities across the state.
The National Beer Wholesalers Association (NBWA) represents America’s 3,000 independent beer distributors with operations in every state, congressional district and media market across the country. Licensed at the federal and state levels, beer distributors get bottles, cans, cases and kegs from a brewer or importer to stores, restaurants and other licensed retail accounts through a transparent and accountable regulatory system. Distributors build brands of all sizes — from familiar domestic beers to new startup labels and imports from around the world – and generate enormous consumer choice while supporting 142,000 quality jobs in their home communities. Beer distributors work locally to keep communities safe by sponsoring programs to promote responsible consumption, combat drunk driving and work to eliminate underage drinking.
